In May, Kim, Geoff and Erin Schmidt opened the doors at Once Upon a Child to buy merchandise for the resale shop. Tomorrow, Tuesday, July 10, they will let the public in to shop.

Once Upon A Child is a franchise that buys and sells gently used clothes and gear. The Schmidts are long-time residents of Verona, but the business is based at 137 Route 46 West in Fairfield, just west of the two other Schmidt businesses, Funtime Junction and Dynamite Falls.

Once Upon A Child is open from Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, noon to 5 p.m. The Schmidts will continue to buy merchandise as well during those hours. Depending on how much you bring in, they will either tell you immediately which of your items they will take and how much they will pay for them, or get back to you quickly. Once Upon A Child does not accept stained or torn clothing, or items that have been recalled.
