In just about a month, Verona will kick off its annual summer concert series in the center of town. There are only four concerts this year–down from the usual five–and two of them will take place at the pool.
Th first concert will be Wednesday, July 4 at the Verona Pool featuring Alotta Colada. That’s a Verona band comprised of Joe and Doreen Arminio, Tom Jacobsen, Bob Manley and Mike Petronaci. The concert starts at 7 p.m. and you have to be a resident of Verona–though not necessarily a pool member–to get into the pool that night.
On Wednesday, July 11, the concert scene shifts to the center of town. It will feature an oldies group that is a staple of the summer music circuit, the Duprees. One week later, an Eagles tribute band called Hotel California will be in the center of town. Both concerts start at 7 p.m. and you should bring a lawn chair or blanket.
The final concert of the summer will be a return engagement of Jimmy & the Parrots, a Jimmy Buffet tribute band. That concert will be at the pool again, and again for residents only.
