Truck In A Hole

Let this little photo, sent in by a sharp-eyed MyVeronaNJ.com reader, serve as a cautionary tale about not driving into an area where there’s been a water main break.

On Tuesday, a main at the north end of Grove Avenue failed and a truck from Verona’s Department of Public Works responded. Apparently the road had been compromised more than DPW knew and, well, this happened. DPW chief Chuck Molinaro says the truck took a few dents, but it is back at the Public Works garage.

All is well with Grove Avenue too. The water main has been repaired, and the street has been repaved and reopened to traffic.
