The Prudential New Jersey Properties office at 538 Bloomfield Avenue held a document shredding day on May 12 to benefit the Sunshine Kids Foundation and nearly doubled the donations taken in during its previous shredding event.

While Prudential offered the shredding available free of charge, it made it possible for those using the service to made a donation to the foundation, which is dedicated to helping children with cancer. In September 2011, the West Essex Regional Office raised $1,600 in donations for the foundation. According to Steve Janett, manager of the West Essex and Montclair offices, the May event took in $,3121.

“Shred-Its” events have been successful for many of Prudential New Jersey Properties’ offices. Last year, the company donated approximately $64,000 to the Sunshine Kids Foundation.
