You can do something nice for the Earth this Saturday evening just by flipping a switch. Saturday, March 31 from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. is Earth Hour, when you can show you are concerned about climate change by switching off your lights and household electronics for one hour.
Earth Hour began in Sydney, Australia in 2007. Since then individuals in more than 135 countries and territories have turned off their lights, as have some of the world’s landmarks, including China’s Forbidden City, the Eiffel Tower, Buckingham Palace, Niagara Falls, and the Empire State Building.
