Dr. Leah Lagos, a clinical and sport psychologist, will speak at Verona High School on Monday January 23. The presentation, entitled “Maximizing Athletic and Academic Potential”, will also highlight Dr. Lagos’ research in treating concussion victims. The talk starts at 6:30 p.m. in the VHS auditorium, and parents, students and coaches are welcome to attend.
Dr. Lagos consults with high school, collegiate, and professional athletes in areas related to health and performance and maintains that the heart is the pathway to emotional control. For more than seven years, Dr. Lagos has taught, conducted research, lectured, and developed programs to help athletes of all ages reduce anxiety, improve mood, enhance focus, and increase performance through biofeedback. Her sport psychology work has appeared on ESPN’s, Inside the PGA Tour, Sports Illustrated, Fox News, CBS, and in national scientific journals and magazines. She has been a consultant to more than 23 collegiate teams and helps to conduct assessments for professional football teams each year at the NFL Combine.
