Where In Verona: The Winner Of Week 2

Call it cupola confusion. We did manage to stump a few of you with the Monday’s photo for the second week of our Where In Verona contest. We had guesses that the photo was the ornamentation on top of H.B. Whitehorne Middle School, F.B. Brown , the Verona Library, the Presbyterian Church, Towne Scoop, and even Verona Pool, which has two: the gazebo and the remodeled snack bar building.

Colin Boyle nailed it, however, with his guess that the photo really depicted the top of the town hall. “I’m not sure why I recognized it,” he says, “but that building came to mind right away. I just had to look at some of the photos that I took on Memorial Day at the ceremony to confirm it.”

Boyle has lived in Verona for 10 years now with his wife Rosemarie and their three children, two daughters in Verona High School, and a son in Forest Avenue school. When not winning stylish baseball caps in a news Web site contest, Boyle says he and his family like to walk around Verona Park.

We’ll have a new Where In Verona contest up on Monday morning. In the meantime, here’s Fred Goode’s full shot of the municipal building. And remember, you can earn a signature MyVeronaNJ baseball cap at any time with a good news tip, photo or video submission. Send them to [email protected].
