If you are going to the Verona Pool today to beat the heat, consider bringing along some canned goods. The Verona Waves Swim Team is collecting food for New Jersey food pantries at all of its “home” swim meets, and there’s one today.
You can donate any non-perishable food, such as pasta, canned goods, drink mixes or peanut butter, and if you can’t bring food, but would still like to help, there will also be boxes to take cash donations near the pool entrance.
Verona Waves swimmers and their Maplewood opponents will begin arriving around 5:30 p.m. If you need to head home before then, just leave your donations at the pool office. The team will also be collecting food donations at its July 21 meet.
I have a bag full of canned goodsbut will not be at the pool today. Can I bring it tomorrow?
