Children Having Individual Learning Differences, the Verona non-profit that sponsors the summer reading room at Verona Pool, is sponsoring a Spanish-language story time with Marisela Santiago of Watchung Booksellers in Montclair, next Wednesday, July 13, from 1 to 2 p.m.. The first 25 children to come to the story time will get a free copy of “Roberto Clemente: Pride of the Pittsburgh Pirates” by Jonah Winter.
Located near the pool manager’s office, C.H.I.L.D’s reading room is open every weekday from 1 to 4 p.m. Children may borrow books to read while at the pool, but may not take them home. C.H.I.L.D., which supports a variety of learning programs for Verona children, is holding special sessions to support the “Buzz Book” program at the middle school and awarding prizes to its summer readers.
