On Tuesday, May 3, the Verona Historical Society is hosting its annual “Show and Tell” program to show of the hidden gems of Verona’s history. If you have a treasure from Verona’s past in your home–an old favorite, or newly acquired antique or collectible–the Historical Society would like you to bring it to the Community Center ballroom at 7:30 p.m. and share its story. The Historical Society will be telling its own stories about past events, family members and early residents. For more information, e-mail the Historical Society at [email protected] or call 973-857-1968.

  1. Did you lose your battle with Essex County and Overbrook preservation?
I just learned that the Student Nurses’ Dorm is gone and maybe more buildings. How sad.
I was a student nurse in the late ’60’s and this was a sepecialty rotation that was required. I lived there for 12 weeks. It changed me forever.
I’m so sorry to see it go. I did write the County and the State about the possibility of transforming the bruildings into emergency preparedness patient care areas. Never heard back in the affirmative or the negative.
