After suffering an 8-0 loss on Wednesday, the Verona Glen Ridge Hockey team demolished West Orange in an 8-1 win on Saturday.

Glen Ridge senior and co-captain Nick Martell had a hat trick in the game, scoring a goal in each period. Junior Matt Lander of Glen Ridge also had a hat trick. He sniped two goals past the West Orange goaltender in the first and one in the second. Senior and co-captain Joe Fitzmaurice of Verona had a goal in the first period, as did Alekos Polis of Glen Ridge.

VGR dominated the offensive zone with 63 shots, while West Orange only had 14 shots in the game.

Max Linnett of Glen Ridge had 2 assists on the night. Verona freshmen Dylan DeCandia and Nick DiStaso each had an assist, as did senior Rob Serafino.

VGR plays MKA at the Codey Arena on Friday, January 14 at 8:45 p.m.
