Verona resident Lisa Violante is holding a fundraiser for the Progeria Research Foundation next Saturday, September 11, at her salon in Bloomfield. Progeria is a disease that produces rapid aging, and it has affected a baby in Verona, Zoey Penny. If you go to Violante’s salon, NailZ Hand & Foot Spa, on September 11 between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m., she will donate 100% of the proceeds to the foundation, which is trying to fund clinical trials of medicines to treat and cure what is now an incurable disease.
