GlassRoots is a nonprofit devoted to teaching kids how to work with glass. It normally operates out of the Halsey Arts Village in Newark, but on Saturday July 24 at 11 a.m., it will be teaching a class on mosaics at the Essex County Environmental Center in Roseland.
“Mosaic Flower Pot” is for children ages 9 and up. Kids will choose a design, make a mosaic from pre-cut pieces of glass and then use grout to set it. Potting soil and a flowering plant will accompany each pot. Advance registration is required by calling 973-228-8776. The class costs $25.
