j0405072If you have a child who is classified with special needs and are baffled by the document called the “Individual Education Plan”, or IEP, help is on the way. C.H.I.L.D. (Children Having Individual Learning Differences) is sponsoring a free workshop on Thursday, February 25 at 7 p.m. in the Verona Community Center’s upstairs Firemen’s room. C.H.I.L.D. is a parent-run non-profit organization that provides support to parents and educators in the Verona school district.

During the workshop, parents who have been through the IEP process numerous times will discuss the definitions and roles involved and offer strategies for preparation and communication. The workshop will be interactive; the group welcomes your questions and will respond to the issues most important to you. Send an e-mail to Nancy Romanyshyn, co-chairperson of C.H.I.L.D.
