The trails and parking areas in South Mountain Reservation are closed today, Tuesday, January 26 and they will be closed again on Thursday, January 28, for Essex County’s planned hunt to cull the reservation’s deer population. There will be marksmen in the park from 5:30 a.m. until 8 p.m. The main roads through the park, such as South Orange Avenue, Cherry Lane and Brookside Drive, will be open, as will Turtle Back Zoo and the Codey Arena.
