Mrs. Claus will be reading holiday stories again.

Verona kicks off the holiday season this Saturday, December 5, with its annual Fair in the Square from noon to 5:00 p.m.

Weather reports are calling for afternoon temps in the mid-40s, which means they will be just right for the kids to enjoy old favorites like UNICO’s Moonwalk and the ice sculpture work sponsored by Hillcrest Farms. Verona High School’s Vocal Jazz Ensemble will be performing at noon and there will be lots of merchandise and crafts for sale, including more than a few things made by your neighbors. The day ends with the arrival of you-know-who on a fire truck and the lighting of the town tree. You can pick up home-made holiday cookies, soup and other goodies, or lunch from Jack’s Café and Tortilla Sunrise.

Stroll on down to the center of town, and have some fun.
